Why we love liquid herbs
Yes, we know. The taste can be interesting.
There’s a reason you’ll find bottles of brown liquid lining the shelves at Tonic Co.
We bloody love herbal medicine.
And while capsules, powders and tablets absolutely have their place, liquid herbal formulas give us something we really value as practitioners:
Flexibility.
We can formulate for the person sitting in front of us rather than trying to squeeze them into an off-the-shelf product.
Poor sleep plus PMS plus anxiety?
We can build around that.
Perimenopause with night sweats, stress and a cycle that has suddenly decided 24 days, 37 days and who-knows-what-next are all perfectly reasonable options?
We can work with that too.
Gut symptoms alongside stress?
Different person. Different formula.
That is one of the things we love most about traditional herbal dispensing.
Individual herbs can be selected and combined according to what we're trying to achieve, then adjusted as things change.
Because humans change.
Your symptoms change. Your cycle changes. Your stress changes. Your medications can change. What you needed six months ago might not be what you need now.
We also care enormously about dose and quality.
A product containing a sprinkle of a trendy herb on the label isn't automatically equivalent to a practitioner-formulated herbal medicine.
The species matters. The plant part matters. The extract matters. The concentration matters. The dose matters.
And yes, sometimes effective herbal medicine tastes absolutely bloody awful.
We have never pretended otherwise.
We chose function over flavour.
So take the shot. Make the face. Chase it with water.
We won’t judge.
Do they taste good? No. Are they designed that way? Also no. They’re formulated for a reason.
